This key, high profile role will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 100 to ensure delivery in the four key areas of safety, quality, service and efficiency. The successful candidate will also be responsible for leading the challenging but exciting people agenda. The emphasis of the role will be on building an empowered, high performing culture, engaging people at all levels in change and continuous improvement whilst cascading ownership and decision-making throughout the organisation. The appointed candidate will also contribute as an important and valued member of the local Operations Leadership Team.
Candidates, ideally degree qualified, will have proven experience in a similar senior leadership role gained in a progressive, change-oriented operational environment. Whilst demonstrable leadership skills are a prerequisite, candidates could come from a wide range of backgrounds including, but not limited to, logistics/distribution, shipping, cargo handling, manufacturing, retail, facilities management, cruise/ferry companies, rail and utilities. Candidates must possess the ability to develop strong working relationships at all levels coupled with a collaborative and highly engaging approach to the delivery of change.
